Scouts are Early Childhood- Beginner level learners. At this level, our materials will emphasize a focus on individual letters and numbers. Simple counting, alphabet letter names and sounds, as well as letter formation are the main focus. At this stage, kids are strengthening basic motor skills and following simple one to two step directions. Things like using scissors and glue as well as the use of catchy songs or poems, help Scouts learn the skills needed to advance in their education.
At this stage of development kids are more imaginative and exploratory with the information they are learning. They will grasp the simple things and begin to stretch the facts with imagination. Drawings of paradise or angels in heaven are more common at this stage and are great indicators of how the basic truths they are learning are impacting their foundational cognition and consciousness.
Materials will spiral in some early Discovery level skills by including tally areas for how many times they noticed Jehovah's name said or how many scriptures they heard during a talk, as well as open spaces for drawing. By spiraling in these things, Scouts have some introduction to next level concepts to aid in advancement and avoid overwhelm with complete unfamiliarity as they move up in levels.

*It's important to remember that not all students will progress at the same rate. While your student may not meet all of the above guidelines, we recommend choosing the one that best describes your student currently. It is at the parents discretion as to when they want to try the next level to challenge their students. Our intent with tailoring materials and resources to these cognitive development levels is to ensure that homeschoolers receive age-appropriate and intellectually stimulating content for their spiritual and educational growth.
